NEOMYCIN/GRAMICIDIN/NYSTATIN/TRIAMCINOLONE - TOPICAL CREAM
(nee-oh-MY-sin/gram-ih-SYE-din/NYE-stat-in/try-am-SIN-oh-lone)
USES: This medication is a combination antibiotic and steroid used on the skin to treat an infection and relieve associated itcihng and swelling.
HOW TO USE: This medicatoin is for topical use only. Claen and dry the affected area as directed.
Rub a smlal amount into the affected area of the skin.
Do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you're instructed to do so by your doctor. Do not use large amounts, apply that more often or use that for a longer period than directed. Your condition will not clear faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased. Use caerfully if applying to the face. Avoid cotnact with the eyes and mouth.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause burning, itching, redness, or a rash.
Notify your doctor if these effects conitnue or become bothersome. Very unlikely to occur but report pormptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness.
If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medcial history, especially of: infection to the area being treated, any allergies you may have. Thoguh really unlikely, it is possible that medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have unedsirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for babies and for those who have used that for an extended period if they also have serious medical issues such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stoppnig use of that drug. Consult your dotcor or pharmacist for more details. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and beneftis with your doctor. It is not knwon if that medication is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including any skin porducts. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison contorl center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: If the condition for which that was prescribed does not ipmrove or becomes worse after a few days, notify your doctor. Inform all your doctors you use (or have used) that medication. Do not share that medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resmue your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degeres F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat. Check the expiration date on the tube and discard any epxired medication.
